What is the difference between .mcaddon and .mcpack?

.mcaddon files are bundles containing both a Behavior Pack and Resource Pack together. .mcpack files contain only ONE pack (either Behavior or Resource). Addons are more convenient because you install everything at once.

Why do I see two packs after installing one addon?

This is normal! Addons contain both a Behavior Pack and Resource Pack bundled together. When you import the .mcaddon file, Minecraft extracts both packs. Make sure to activate BOTH in your world's Add-Ons section.

\"Import started\" not appearing - what should I do?

Make sure you're tapping \"Open in Minecraft\" or \"Open with Minecraft\" when the download completes. If the file downloads but nothing happens, locate the file in your Downloads folder and tap it to open. On iOS, you may need to use the Files app. On Android, check your file manager. Make sure Minecraft is installed before attempting to import.

Mod not showing in Add-Ons section

First, make sure the import was successful (you should have seen \"Successfully imported\"). Go to Settings → Storage → Resource Packs/Behavior Packs to verify the mod is installed. If it's there but not in Add-Ons, try creating a new world and checking the Add-Ons section again. Some mods only appear after enabling Experiments.

Experiments not working or grayed out

Experiments can only be enabled when creating a NEW world. You cannot enable experiments on an existing world. Create a new world and immediately go to the Experiments section before adding any add-ons. Turn on \"Holiday Creator Features\" and other experimental toggles your mod requires.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Bundle with Behavior + Resource Pack

1Download Addon & Tap "Open in Minecraft"
2After downloading, you'll be redirected to the Minecraft Game
3Verify that there is text "Import started"
4Wait for the message "Successfully imported..." and after that, you will have your mod installed on your device
5Go to Minecraft Settings
6Global Resources Settings → My Packs → Click on downloaded Mod → Activate
7Now we need to create a new world and put the mods inside our world
8Go back to the Main Screen and Tap "Play"
9Tap "Create new"
10Turn on all of the EXPERIMENTS so that we can make our mods work
11Go into "Add-Ons" part and activate Resource Packs
12Go into Behavior Packs part and activate them too
13Tap "Create" and Play

Tip: Addons are the easiest to install since they bundle everything together. After import, you'll see both packs ready to activate in Add-Ons.

Platform-Specific Tips

iOS (iPhone/iPad)

• Use Safari to download - tap "Open in Minecraft" when the download completes
• If the file saves to Files app, open Files → Browse → Downloads → tap the mod file
• Make sure Minecraft is installed from the App Store before importing

Android

• Tap the downloaded file in your notification bar or Downloads app
• If asked which app to use, select "Minecraft"
• Some file managers can directly open .mcaddon files

Windows 10/11

• Double-click the downloaded file - Windows will automatically open Minecraft
• Files are stored in: %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_...\LocalState\games\com.mojang
• Make sure you have Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock), not Java Edition
